Wow, Zito, what a great game. He's good. What a bargain at $125M or
whatever it was. Worth every penny.

btw, I think I musta heard it wrong. I heard on the KNBR postgame show that
the Giants had the best hitting in the league for June, whatever "best
hitting" means. I musta heard it wrong, right?

I also heard that since the Dbacks' hot start, they've been something like
19-30. They're now barely over .500 (40-39), and show no signs of
improvement. At 5.5 games back, the Giants *are* contending. A .460
winning percentage might win the division. Wink Giants management must be
laughing their asses off.

Now, now . .. after all, it's not your money, it's McGowan et al's
money. And at least he's a great guy and gives a lot back
let's be clear, there are many Americans, entertainers, politicians,
CEOs esp, who do terrible in their jobs and get golden parachutes ...
I'd rather he get overpaid than some others. Like the CEOs who
destroy a company, outsource the jobs, run the corporation into the
ground, and they get a lot more than Zito got. My point is, if
someone has to be overpaid, better him, than others.

That's baseball. You never really know what's going to happen.

I gotta see him do well 2 games in a row. After each of his first 2
wins they declared him "back on track". Then he goes out and gets
raked.

I didn't see the whole game yesterday, but I saw enough to know the
big Zit was getting hitters into 0-2 and 1-2 counts a lot, which makes
it harder for them to lay off that big curve. And he got those
pitchers counts by spotting his fastball on the corners, and not over
the center of the strike zone.

His next start should be interesting.
