To the K.C. Royal fans.
I know that you've gone through some struggling times....
You'd even suffered through missing three straight World Series
Championships after that rascal Charlie Finley moved westward to Oakland
(what a disgrace), and
especially after enduring many years of hardship beforehand. Hey how about
Roger Maris? You all made the great Maris what he was, not the Yankees!
You've had some mighty great teams. Larry Gura, George Brett, Willie Wilson
and I could go on.
I hate to see a team go through such hard times, especially after we almost
lost our beloved White Sox to the city of Tampa when we were down and out to
out-of-town buyers in '1989-90.
I can only hope that the end of this year leads into a fresh winning start
(and end of season) for your club in '09.
Without the commitance and hard work of your '08 team, my White Sox wouldn't
be where we are - to challenge the (Devil) Rays.
I appreciate the determination of the Royals in beating the Twins this past
weekend, you saved our hides!
You've got a tough team, and I hope that you get even better-tougher next
year.
I sure would one day like to visit your lovely city to catch a ballgame
someday.
So may the Gods of Baseball once again enter into your ballpark once again.
Thanks, most graciously for taming the Twins.
P.S. I think that the White Sox might (emphasize "might") once again prove
their worthiness to represent our division.
It couldn't have happened without you!
