Even though Cubs fans have had their hearts broken for decades, it seemed
impossible that even the Cubs could choke away a 3-1 lead with two games
at home and their two stud pitchers scheduled for those home games.

Never underestimate the ability of the Cubbies to self-destruct, I guess.
My heart goes out to those broken-hearted fans. I just hope that poor
bastard Steve Bartman manages to find a way to disappear completely.
He'll probably need to change his name and move to Oregon, or something,
though. And I'd bet even there, he'd run into some disgruntled Cubs fan
while hiking in the mountains.

Dusty Baker appeared to me to completely mismanage both games 6 and 7,
though. He waited too long to pull Kerry Wood, and he waited too long to
pull Mark Prior. And don't the Cubs have somebody who's good at getting
ground balls? That's who he should have put in to replace Prior in game
6, not Farnsworth.

I'm also completely mystified that he didn't use any of his other starters
in Game 7, the way KcKeon used Beckett. What the hell did he think he was
saving them for?

And Penny. That surprised me as well, especially since the scheduling
favored the NL with an extra day off before the start of the WS. The Cubs
would have had an extra day of rest for the pitchers. I think that's why
McKeon let Beckett go so long

More like I'm glad I'm not the Cub's Fan. That poor bastard may have
to move to Siberia.
