| This could be a short topic if our esteemed friend Boog was correct in picking the Bosox to sweep.
Red Sox Nation may have a way to go before they impact "Yankee Universe", but that city just might have a WS Champion AND a Super Bowl Champion.

| By my count, Mirabelli, Ortiz, Ramirez, Schilling, Timlin, Varitek, and Wakefield are the only holdovers from the 2004 team. Hosers do it again, when teams like the AngelO's scoff at rebuilding.

I thought the Rockies could muster up one win at home; alas the Red Sox were hitting on all cylinders. They wiped 'em out. It was never even close. Congratulations to the Red Sox! As they say, may the best team win. This year, they certainly did. A powerhouse team, sitting pretty for next year's Championship Round.
Boog, I hope you enjoyed this run suitably. Must be a crazy time in New Englanc! >> Stay informed about: World Series |

It was a very fun season in these parts. While there were the usual ups and downs, there was always that sort of feeling that overall they were the best team. When the Red Sox arrive in Boston this afternoon, they're all going straight to Fenway for a celebration, and later on in the week there will be a parade. I remember in the winter of 2004, Boston execs took the trophy to every major town in New England for fans to see. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

On YESPNESN, Pete-ah Gammons said, "if they hadn't rebuilt the Red Sox, they'd be a 3rd or 4th place team right now." They were a 3rd place team in 2006, but 4th place? Not going to happen in a division with the AngelO's and Rays. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

As I recall the 2006 team had several injuries to key players, just like the 2006 Indians. The re-tooling helped to be sure, but they also benefited from having a healthy team. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

They're going to have to find a place in the rotation for Clay Buchholz, the kid who dazzled in the minors and pitched a no-hitter after being called up in September. They already have Beckett, Schilling, Dice-K, Wakefield and Lester, who pitched scoreless ball last night. Schilling is a free agent. Be interesting to see what happens. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

Schilling said earlier this year he'd be willing to do a 1-year deal, but they wouldn't give it to him because they were pissed he was out of shape. Wonder if he'll take it now, after a 3-0, 3.00 postseason? I'd want him back. That dude is money in big games. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

I told my boy that baseball season is now over. He said, "Dad, I can sense this, next baseball season, the Orioles have no chance. No chance."
He's only 7 and, obviously, a prodigy. >> Stay informed about: World Series |

The 2008 Orioles look like the 1987-88 version to me.
Boston should offer Curt a 2 year contract with an option for a third. He's thrown 355 innings over the last two years; earned run average well below median. Guys with those numbers at age 30 get $8-10 million a year. >> Stay informed about: World Series |
