I wonder why Payton and not Thames? Thames only had 350 at bats last
year but had his best season yet especially power wise. He looks to hit
RH's as well as he hits lefties. He's also 5 years younger then Payton
and at 29 just coming into his prime. I would also suspect he's a
cheaper option.
Sori or Lee would have been nice but I wouldn't lose any sleep over
Luis Gonzalez.
This move is interesting.

I've got to wonder how much Thames is asking for?

Thames isn't asking for anything, if I'm correct that he's still under
contract with the Tigers. It's the Tigers that are doing the asking.

LOL!

That is only a good idea if the O's could also sign Raffy for 1B/DH
and sign Sammy Sosa for another throw in the OF.

That would give the O's a trifecta of steroid boys.

It could only be made better if they could sign Mark David McGwire to
a one-year deal. That would be the "Grand Slam" of steroid boys!
Just think of it: Bonds, Sosa, McGwire and Raffy on the same team...

What a freakshow that would be?!?

Suddenly Payton has value in the ASBBO Fantasy Baseball league.

Don't they think they could get the same performance out of Fiorentino
for less then one-tenth the price?
