The Tigers managed to hang on and salvage one game in the
series with Chicago today. It's better than I thought they'd do.

It was a very wise choice for Leyland to put in Rodney to close the game
and hang onto the two run lead in the 9th, rather than going with Jones.

If Leyland is smart, he'll stick with Rodney or Zumaya in those crucial
save situations in the second half of this season. Jones is ripe for a
total meltdown now, after his first half luck has started to wear off.

They should've won the first game of the series.

Zumaya left in the 8th with tightness in his tricepts.

They would have, if Jones hadn't blown it.

A good closer is a big part of close games.

I watched that game, and Dye earned that win for the ChiSox with
his hit, IMO.

Yep. Neither Rodney or Zumaya are ready to be quality closers
yet, but Zumaya has the most potential, IMO.

But both are probably a safer bet than Jones right now.
