I've been an on-the-fence Wedge supporter but last night I reached my
limit.

How do you not bunt Gomez over from second after leading off the ninth
with a double? After the game Wedge said he didn't ask Peralta to bunt
Gomez to third because he was the Tribe's best chance to deliver the
run. Oh really?

Let's see...Peralta is in a 2 for 20 slump and has no clue at the
plate. His numbers against the Tiger's Rodney you ask...how's 0 for 8
with 3 strikeouts? This is the Tribe's best chance at scoring a run?

You say maybe Jhonnie isn't a very good bunter? Well according to
Wedge Jhonnie is "a very good bunter." These were comments to the
media in an attempt to defend Peralta's inability to get a sac bunt
down a week or so ago.

And why I'm on the subject of Peralta...how has Jhonnie become such a
Wedge favorite? I mean this guy can do no wrong! How did Wedge NOT
bench him after getting picked off WITH THE BASES FREAKIN' LOADED. Did
Wedge even ask Jhonnie were the hell he thought he was going?

Then the idiot has Joe Borowski pitch in a non-save situation. His ERA
in non-save situation you ask...how 'bout over 15.00 Now I don't know
WHY Borowski can't pitch in a non-save situation but as a manager I
need to figure this info into my moves. Why not pitch Perez?

I've watch Wedge make NO moves in the lineup for over three slumping
weeks. I've listened to him tell us that teams go through slumps and
things will work themselves out. Last night he FINALLY made some
changes. Eric, you aren't being paid to sit idlely by as things take
care of themselves.

agreed. and please let Jhonny go with him. A non-stop disaster in the
field and at the plate in the last two weeks. Thanks to the Tigers for
sucking just a little worse than the Tribe since the All Star Break.

A lead-off double in the bottom of the ninth during a tied game...and
you can't play small ball well enough to advance him? Just like failing
to turn a double play, these lapses don't show up in the box score as
errors...but they don't show up in teams that will actually play ball
deep into October either.

Apparently, this year's heartbreak is in August. They are sucking worse
than than the Dow Jones right now...

Until they learn to play small ball, they have NO chance to beat the better
teams.

Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in. Not that hard but for these guys I
guess it is.

How about Wedge taking Derek Shelton with him on the way out. Isn't it the
job of the hitting coach to help his hitters to get out of slumps and to
maybe show them and work with them on bunting. They won't beat any of the
good teams with above average pitching if they don't learn how to bunt
runners over. Instead Wedge seems to want to go for the "big inning" by
letting them hit. Unfortunately by not bunting, they don't seem able to put
it in play as they strike out one right after another. I know it is
frustrating watching them get a lead off double and then proceed to let a
has-been pitcher get out of the inning by letting him strike out the side.
Everyone seems to look like Cy Young against them.

Still a long way to go, so hopefully they'll get things going. I'll be
rooting for them regardless...
