:^) You lasted a year longer than I did! After the first year of doing it
all myself, I insisted that the next year we rotate the duty each week.
That worked, and we ran for 6 years in that fashion until in 1994 we
purchased a software program that dialed up to a database server somewhere
and updated it's stats (of course, back then with 1200bd modems, that
process took damn near as long as the by-hand process did). VERY
rudimentary by today's standards, but man, did we think we were hot stuff.
Enough of us had moved away in the next 2 years that the league disbanded
before we entered the age of the WWW-based stats services.
But, to answer the original question of this thread: yes you can send your
buddies any number of periodicals that contain statistics, and they can
compile by hand just fine. I'm sure if I was in their situation, the
ammount of time that it took wouldn't really matter, and I'd probably
relish every minute of it.
