Comcast can only show a game if a local tv station or cable network
is showing the game. They can not ,for example, retransmit a telecast
originating from Anaheim when the A's are playing the Angels.
A similar misconception occurs in the NFL. People blame Comcast for
showing Raiders or 49er game when better games are being played. Under
NFL rules the first obligation of network affiliates is to show road
games of local teams and the next is sold out home games. CBS and Fox
are contractually obligated to follow those rules and Comvcast and
satellite providers can not replace a local network affiliate with one
from another market.

Comcast has nothing to do with the blackout rules. The baseball rules
are as follows:
If you have the season ticket package and your local team is playing
MLB rules prohibit showing the telecast of the other team even if the
game is not telecast in your area.
Fox has exclusive rights to baseball on Saturday afternoon.Whatever
game Fox decides to show in your area during that time period is the
only game you will see even if you have to tv or internet video
packages. The best that you can do during those hours is the internet
radio package.

The A's have never had a good local tv contract and their radio
history is laughable. The Giants have been on KNBR since 1979. I l.lost
track of how many times the A;s have changed since then.

Complete agreement. SNY,the Mets network, does a late night 30 minute
game recap every night.
