Perkins is getting knocked all over the place and you leave him in
there that deep? Then your solution to fix the problem is to bring in
Bass?

Jesus. Are you TRYING to lose this game? It's this kind of game that
makes it hard for me to give the man his due when he does things
right.

Matt

Yeah, that was a head scratcher all right. I didn't like the "feel" of this
game ever since Justin got thrown out at home... sometimes crazy stuff
happens. I think Gardy took this game for granted and though I'm no big
believer in "momentum" in baseball, this season is changing some of my
beliefs... lots of good teams (the Twins among them) are flat out bad on
the road and I think he was a little too loose with the management tonight.

You might be able to get away with this stuff at home, where the Twins play
so much better, but not on the road right now.

Earl Weaver use to prefer losses like this, to the 1 run losses. It
was ugly, but
perhaps it will bring them to earth, and the team will double their
resolve.
Hope the Tigers/CWS series is 2-1 for the Tigers.

Let's hope that wasn't the case but, sadly to say, I tend to agree with
you.

The Twins had leads of 1-0, 4-0, 6-0, and our "new piranhas" were
getting on base, yet no stolen base attempts, no hit-and-runs, nothing.
Gardy always talks about how he likes the Twins' speed. What happened to
all the stolen bases the Twins were getting early in the season?

The bullpen on the road, that's another story....
