What were the Janks' odds when the season started? 10 to 1 is still
too good for them. Heh. >> Stay informed about: Vegas: Odds on Winning the WS |

Toronto and the Yankees have identical records roughly 55% through the
season. So how the hell can the Yankees be 10 to 1 and the Blue Jays
90 to 1? The answer is it isn't about reality, it is about betting
perceptions of the public. Some Yankee fans will continue to throw
away their money so the bookies are shorting them on the odds to
maximize their profits. I would much rather put $100 on Toronto for a
chance to win $9,000 then $100 on the Yankees for a chance to win
$1,000. >> Stay informed about: Vegas: Odds on Winning the WS |

Detroit should be higher, I think, like maybe 5/2. Possibly the Angels,
too. Both are, right now, better teams than the Sox, given injuries,
offense, etc. Not sure how they compute these thing anyway, unless it's
based on the money already wagered.
Half of last year's playoff teams are in danger of missing the playoffs.

Detroit (and angels) has to win its division or get the WC to even
qualify for the post season. Odds are they will do one or the other,
but the risk of failure reduces their odds for the WS. In contrast,
the RS right now have a clear path to winning the division. Once the
playoff teams are fixed, I think you would see the odds for the Tigers
go up relative to the RS. >> Stay informed about: Vegas: Odds on Winning the WS |

On paper.
This is why they play the games.
And the games show they are a .500 team. >> Stay informed about: Vegas: Odds on Winning the WS |
