Runs in one inning? I agree! I hope Fogg's ready to go in the 2nd.
I guess the good news, if you want to try and find any, is that the Reds
are actually better as a team against lefties than righties. The bad news
with that stat though? Our left-handed hitters are only hitting .209
against lefties, and that's half our starting lineup or more, depending on
which of Dunn, Griffey, Votto, Bako and Patterson play. The good news is
that our righties are batting .305 against LHPs.
The worst news, of course, is that it's Johan Santana we're talking about
so it hasn't really mattered if it's LHB or RHB this year, they're both
only hitting around the .200 mark against him. It could be a long, LONG
afternoon for the Reds. I guess if there's any silver lining at all it's
that Santana's been far worse at home than on the road this year, with an
ERA a full 2 runs higher at Shea than elsewhere, but that's a sample size
of only 2 games. We'll see.
