Post subject: The Twins offense vs. top pitchers
Archived from groups: alt>sports>baseball>mn-twins (more info?)

In the last few weeks, the Twins have beaten Cliff Lee, Brandon Webb, Greg
Maddux, Randy Johnson, Trevor Hoffman, and Ben Sheets, and won a game Jake
Peavey started.

Sure, The Big Unit and Hoffman are way down from where they used to be...
but the others aren't exactly chopped liver... Maddux has pitched very well
this year, so has Peavey, the others are three current All-Stars including
both the AL and the NL starter, and 2 guys (Lee and Sheets) who are
currently having career years and were all but unbeatable until the Twins
cuffed em around a bit.

I know this has been brought up several times recently... but it bears
repeating... it's great to see this team matching up with and beating these
guys that have usually given the team absolute fits.

BTW, today the Twins were 2 for 6 with RISP with 2 of those "misses" RBIs
scored on ground outs... another RBI on a walk... only one RBI scored on a
hit.
