Anyone want to make a prediction? I think my Tigers have
shown that we're not the same old Tigers. Certainly I don't
expect our League Leading record to hold up for very long,
but I think we can safely expect a much improved season
compared to our horrible 119 lose season last year.

Tigers lost our DH Dmitri Young, but I understand that the
Twins lost a player too, didn't you? Or was that just a minor
injury.

Tigers have alot of confidence and moment coming in after
sweaping the Jays, and the Twins have played two long
games I understand.

I think the Friday off will allow the Twins to get rested up
and restart themselves a little bit. I'm thinking that we
split the two weekend games, and give a slight edge to the
Tigers for todays game due to momentum, home field
advantage and a tied Twins team. Tigers take 2 of 3.

Chris

I could see the Tigers winning today, but I dont know if they can top the
Twins this weekend. Id say Twins take 2 of 3, provided Torii and Santana
are back. Thats great about sweeping the Jays though!

I don't know - obviously, the time he played was brief so it's hard to
really say, but Mauer looked like he might be one of their best
players already. Young is ... well, c'mon. He's good, but let's not
get into pretending Young is anything special.

In any event, give Detroit props for coming out and silencing the
critics. They're 4-0 and they & their fans deserve to celebrate. It's
not like they've had occasion to do that much in the past several
years, and I don't expect they'll be able to do it for long this year.

are you kidding me? the guy had a *great* 2003 season. .900+ OPS *is*
special. contrast and compare with:

mientkiewicz: .853
stewart: .823
hunter: .763
pierzynski: .843
koskie: .845
jones: .797
lecroy: .832

so young had 50 points of OPS on the twins' *best* fulltime player and he's
nothing special?

probably not... at least their pitching is young and there's a lot of X
factor there. their pitching should be a lot better at some point, it's
just a matter of when that takes place through the development of the good
young arms they have in place.
