The latest numbers show D-Train has an ERA of 3.10 in 107 1/3 innings.

Webb has an ERA of 2.45 in 128 2/3 innings.

BTW: Webb's ERA is third best in the NL among qualifiers, fifth best in
MLB. Willis doesn't yet qualify for the ERA title.

Interesting side note. The four best ERAs in the NL (Brown, Schmidt,
Webb, Schilling) pitch in the NL West. Out of the top ten, two more
pitch in the NL West (Nomo and Batista are #7 and #8, respectively).
There are two Cubbies in the top ten, one Marlin and one Expo. Only the
D-Backs have three pitchers in the top ten, although the Dodgers and Cubs
are close (Ishii is #11, Wood is #12).

The Braves don't have *anybody* in the top ten. The closest they get is
Ortiz at #14. Maddux is #35!

Maybe the "Interesting side note" explains the itself & the Braves - maybe
the ptichers in the NL west get to face batters in the NL west?

Sure, and maybe you've forgotten that two of the most powerful offensive
forces in baseball are in the NL West? It's not like the Braves pitchers
have to face Barry Bonds very often or pitch at Coors Field more than once
a season.
