Padres 7, Mariners 4



First baseman Ryan Klesko leads San Diego past Seattle, 7-4, with a 2-run
homer and 3 RBI for the Padres. Outfielder Eric Owens and first baseman Ed
Sprague each contribute 2 hits, and second baseman Bret Boone has 2 RBI for
San Diego. Starting pitcher Stan Spencer (2-1) pitches 8-2/3 innings to get
the win, and reliever Trevor Hoffman gets his 13th save by getting the final
out.



Seattle starter John Halama (6-1) takes his first loss of the season,
pitching 6 innings and giving up 9 hits and 5 runs. Center fielder Mike
Cameron has a 2-run homer to lead the Mariners' offense.



Padre record and standing: 25-29, 5th place, 9.5 games behind Arizona.



At: Safeco Field

Attendance: 44,183
