I've posted a All-Time Lineup for the Nationals/Expos (presently Cordero
is the only National since they've only been in Washington since 2005).
I'm curious what people think of it. However, please note the rules I
followed in making it. Here it is:

You may or may not be required to register to read it. I can't say.
Thank you.

I can't argue with any of your choices. What a great group of players. My
favourite Expo of all-time is still Tim Wallach, and I still can't stand
that HOF jerk behind the plate, deserving though he may be.......
I don't know much about the pre-80's Expos, although I'm partial to Warren
Cromartie and wouldn't have minded seeing him make the list. Tim Burke, as
well had a great Expo career, and might displace Fryman.
I know your rules had to have excluded him, but honourable mention has to
go to the great Mudcat Grant, who only won one game in 10 starts in '69, but
is a great story and a great name.

I worked with a 25-man roster and wanted to make a realistic team.
Consequently, I had to deal with people were they played. I liked Delino
DeShields but you can't have both DeShields and Pedro in fairness since
they were traded for each other.

As for Cromartie, you can't take Cromartie at RF over Guerrero as a
starter and over Walker or Alou as bench players.

I liked Burke also but felt that Fryman was more valuable. YMMV. I'd be
more inclined to possibly replace Reardon for Burke than Fryman. Reardon
had the saves but also blew many save opportunities.

I know about Grant. I read about him in Terry Pluto's book "The Curse of
Rocky Colavito." He played for the Twins prior to the Expos and pitched
very well for them in the 1965 World Series against the Dodgers. Here's
Grant's stats:

Yep, Cro was just a sentimantal favourite, even though I didn't follow him
when he played. I mean, did Walker or Alou have a candy bar named after him?

Reardon was the beard of Expo relievers and undoubtedly the most
memorable. Speaking of memorable......... Mr. Bill Spaceman Lee.........
'79 Expos

'79 was the greatest year in Expos' history because it was their first
great team. They had the whole city buzzing. It was great. (finished 2 games
back of Pittsburgh)
