I worked with a 25-man roster and wanted to make a realistic team.
Consequently, I had to deal with people were they played. I liked Delino
DeShields but you can't have both DeShields and Pedro in fairness since
they were traded for each other.
As for Cromartie, you can't take Cromartie at RF over Guerrero as a
starter and over Walker or Alou as bench players.
I liked Burke also but felt that Fryman was more valuable. YMMV. I'd be
more inclined to possibly replace Reardon for Burke than Fryman. Reardon
had the saves but also blew many save opportunities.
I know about Grant. I read about him in Terry Pluto's book "The Curse of
Rocky Colavito." He played for the Twins prior to the Expos and pitched
very well for them in the 1965 World Series against the Dodgers. Here's
