Whether its not letting anyone know if its a walk or strikeout or falling
to stop the game during a monsoon or forgetting to call an infield fly
until the ball hits the ground when conditions are so poor no one can see
the ball...

You can count on McClelland's poor communications.

Ah, that explains the weird, "Flores popped out to third, Pena out at
third, Belliard to second" game note......... and the "It's getting
dangerous out there as a pop up to third nearly smacks Miguel Cabrera in the
face." comment.

Pena was never tagged out at 3rd the player stepped on the bag. I did not
hear an explanation but I do believe that he is called out when he walks
into the dugout. That is the rule anyway. But that was a total mess by the
umpires. Infield Fly is not automatic since the rule states that the
infielder "must have a reasonable chance" of catching the ball. Since no
one knew where the hell the ball was how does one have "a reasonable chance"
of catching the ball. Plus the fact that no umpire called the infield fly,
so how could it be an infield fly? Now, I guess the only question is did
Belliard already possess 2nd base and the umpires felt Pena was forced at
3rd, but Belliard could have gone back to 1st since he was not forced so
none of it makes any sense.
