Team ERA 4.52

Twins ERA 4.51

Next time Levi Humongous pitches I expect the Twinks ERA to go even higher.

Yeah, but we didn't sign Livan to a 3-year, $29-million contract. And
Dontrelle Willis is one of the few pitchers in the league I'd actually
cringe at more than Livan.

I think it's hilarious that it's taken so long this season before Likely
Story had the balls to show up in this group. LOL

There are other advantages to the Tigers doing so shitty this season...
and the lack of LS is just one of them. Wink

How sad is it when the fan of a $135+ million payroll team has to brag
about their team pitching ERA of 4.52?

The Twins are getting better results out of a payroll of less than half of that.

By the way, the Twins current ERA is 4.49, although that certainly nothing I
would want to brag about. Wink

I don't know about that. I don't cringe at walks, as Willis is wont to
give up. I DO cringe at home runs being launched by backup catchers
off an 82 mph "fastball" by Livan.

He's definitely been a disappointment.

Considering the contract the Tigers signed him to, I would have
to agree.

I thought the Tigers were nuts when they signed that contract with
Willis, and I still stand by that thought.

I also think the Tigers got robbed with the Cabrera contract, but at
least Cabrera is being *somewhat* productive this season (but
certainly not $20 million worth).

I'm not sure what I really expected from him. Maybe the Marlins wanted to
get rid of him bad enough that he had to be packaged in with Cabrera.

So far it's looking like he might've stole a little bit of money from the
Tigers, but he has come around a little bit. If he continues playing the
way he has been then I think it'll be ok.

And that was worth paying him $29 million for three years?

For that kind of money he should be a perennial All-Star...and I just
don't see that happening. And then there's his fluctuating weight
issue. He's just way overpaid, IMO.

As of today, Twins are #21 with a team ERA of 4.44.

Detroit has dropped back down to #26 with an ERA of 4.55 after
yet *another* terrible Tigers pitching exhibition last night.

It's a good thing the Tigers got Rodney back in the bullpen, the
bad news is that his ERA is now 135.00. LOL!

As a sidebar, I also noticed an interesting difference in these teams
for team pitching. The Tigers are #4 in the league for the most walks
given up this season with 303 walks. The Twins are #30 with the
fewest walks given up in the league with 188.
