well, Sheff's absence is a fator. Gotta put somebody in the lineup.

wasn't that ther start where the first seven outs were all Ks? Crap happens.
I'm not worried until I see him get whacked in three straight.

I'm sure the coaching staff will keep a close eye on him.

What is really remarkable is to lose a doubleheader to a last place
team and possibly lose the series. Not enough consistency and too
much "hunch playing". Yeh, I know, "use all 25 players and keep em
happy Jimmy". What kind of witches brew are you concocting for
todays lineup? Glad the Perez' boys are not an option.

Hessman should be back in the line up on Thursday as well. Those
Mud-Hen guys have really been a welcome relief on this long road trip.

As for Kenny, looking at his career July has proved to be his worst
month. Up through 2006, he has a 30-25 record in the month of July
but a 4.63 ERA. That is his highest ERA for any month. He does
offset that though with a career ERA of 3.68 in games in September and
Ocotber.

I think a note that should be chipped in here --- partially a reliever
defense ---- When was the last complete game for a starter. I know you
are limited to 120 pitches, but if you don't use 30 of them in the first
inning, someone should get a complete game in once in a while

Last season 3 Detroit starters had complete games.

Verlander on May 22nd against the Royals, Zch Miner on June 20th
against the Brewers and Nate Robertson on July 9th against the
Mariners.

Verlander has this season's only complete game (the no hitter) on June
12th against the Brewers. That is also the only shut out by the Tiger
pitching staff this season.

And it's not like any of the starters are getting over pitched. The
radio went though the last couple weeks and only one pitcher had made it
through seven innings and there were lots of less than six inning starts.

as in ----> What's a quality start for a Tiger Starter??? Six innings
and only giving up four runs?
