Hey, maybe I will get my wish of a 6 game winning streak. Tigers won
their 2nd game in a row beating the Royals 4-3 last night (Wednesday)
putting their record at 40-118 with 4 games left in the season. Shane
Loux got his first major league win and pitched very well giving up
only 1 run in 5 innings. And then a miracle happened...the Tiger
bullpen managed to keep the Royals from overtaking the Tigers but not
without some drama. Matt Roney put three straight runners on base to
start the seventh. Raul Ibanez tripled in Rondell White, then scored
on Guiel's sacrifice fly. That led to Fernando Rodney. Rodney
entered in the eighth following Julius Matos' leadoff single. After
pinch-hitter David DeJesus sacrificed Matos to second, Rodney fanned
the next two batters, then retired the side in order in the ninth for
his third save.

Oddly, the Toledo Mudhens' manager Larry Parrish has been filing in
for Alan Trammell and got the two wins.

Tonight (Thursday) the Tigers go up once again against the Central
Division champion Twins. Twins' manager Ron Gardenhire expects to
play his starters only four or five innings a game to rest them for
next week's Division Series. Still though, the pitching match up
favors the Twins with Johan Santana (12-3, 3.17 ERA) going up against
Nick Robertson (1-2, 6.21 ERA). Santana dominated the Tigers in their
meeting last week. Tigers need to win 3 out of their last 4 to avoid
bettering the 62' Mets' record of 40-120. It is time for all true
Tiger fans to cross their fingers, toes, eyes and whatever else it
takes to help the Tigers achieve the 3 wins.

Regards,

I've been doing my part: I watch the first inning then none
of the rest of the game. Its worked the last two nights! Smile
