The Horns are on a roll. They defeated probably the best Ole' Miss team
of all time (so far) on the road to get there, and took command over
Tulane and Baylor to reach the finals.
The Gators have been dominant since the SEC Tournament, except for the
hiccup against an overacheiving Sun Devil squad. They beat Tennessee
and stud Luke Hochevar, then came from behind when challenged by
Murphy's Devils.
Two excellent, well coached, teams will square off this weekend!
Florida lost Alan Horne their #1 pitcher tonight to injury, and used up
Tommy Boss, their #2, to finish the game over ASU, so the series should
be about even. Although the Gators may be at a little bit of a pitching
disadvantage, their game plan isn't all about pitching. This series is
more even than it seems on the surface.
May the best team win!
BTW: Again, I congratulate Pat Murphy on a fine job coaching to get
THAT team THIS far.
He got every drop of piss out of those kids.
You guys may think he's a prick, but he is certainly as good as anyone
I've seen in this tournament.
If this guy was in the SEC and had access to the great athletes there,
he'd seldom miss the CWS. Of course, he would probably kill some of
those same athletes when they started acting like prima-donnas, so
maybe it's best for him to stay in Arizona.
Geaux Tigers!!
