Is it me or is this a bad deal for the Expos. We get a 244 career-hitter
from the Cubs and two guys already of to Edmonton. Yippie !

Orlando's had a terrible year and we STILL trade for someone with a
worse average, and who has been injured at that.

Sorry, not the Cubs, the bloody marlins of all people.

It keeps getting better.

It is the Cubs' Alex Gonzalez. Weak-hitting, no range and coming off
injuries. He'll fit right in.

No, it doesn't..........., but I know what you meant.

The Cubs' newsgroup has been pretty high on the two prospects this past
year, but not so much now that they are high on Nomah............ and got
rid of their #8 hitting shortstop.

Brendan Harris is supposedly major league ready at 3B, so there's the
upgrade over Batista. And Beltran was expected to make the roster next year,
so if they are allowed to call him up, he couldn't be any worse than half
the donkeys in the bullpen.
I'll be interested to see the comparison between Nomar and Orlando for
the rest of the season. I like the Cubs, but I'm betting they'll wish they'd
kept Cabrera when they had the chance....

Why would you think it's just you? When was the last time the Expos
made a GOOD trade? Methings, it was when we traded Rusty to the Mets.

You're right, trading for Pedro was a huge mistake!
That Alou trade was bad too.

According to Webster. "sarcasm: a taunting, sneering, cutting, or
caustic remark; gib or jeer, generally ironical. The making of such
remarks....."

Of course they've made other good trades, but when you add up the good
ones and then compare them to the bad ones, the scale certainly tilts
in favor of the bad ones.

In fact, IMHO, the Expos haven't made "trades" over the last few
years. They've simply found ways to exchange high-priced talent for
lesser-priced, lesser talent.
