Well, I think that clearly about the Tigers. Not trying to sound like a
homer, but I think on paper, at least looking before the season started,
they were the best team in the Central. Now? Very underperforming, but
it's happened so long, I have been trying to figure out what's wrong? I
personally think (with no knowledge really of specifics), that something in
the coaching has to be bad, pitching / hitting coaches need to be changed?
They have been shut out wayyyy to many times, Verlander (until has last few
starts) is not where he should be. They just don't seem to have the fire.
I do think they are turning it around but is it too late? Not sure, I still
think they have a shot.
I see the Twins as a .500 club if that , a bit under. You can't get rid of
Santana in such a bad trade and lose other players and expect to compete.
Cleveland is another team like the Tigers. CC has not been where he was
last year, Carmona is hurt now, their hitting (Hafner) has not shown up. I
thought the Central was the Tigers/Indians to split.
And the White Sox have been a surprise to me, I didn't expect them to be
this good. And it looks like they are here to stay. Good for them. So
now, I see it as the WS's division for now and the Tigers coming up and
giving them a shot. I have no idea if the Tigers can make it all the say,
but I think they have a chance, and hey, at this point, that is probably
more than they deserve.
