Post subject: Survey from the Nats
Archived from groups: alt>sports>baseball>wash-nationals (more info?)

Finally got around to filling out the Nats media survey. It asked about
radio stations and newspapers.

When will they send out a beer and food survey to the season ticket holders?

Beers I'd like to see at the new park:
Guinness

and 2-3 of these beers:

Tuppers Hop Pocket Ale
Flying Dog Pale Ale
Old Dominion Old Barrel Stout
Old Dominion Pale Ale
Anchor Steam Pale Ale
Liberty Ale
Clipper City Pale Ale

In fact, why not hire Shenandoah Brewery or Old Dominion Brewery to brew
some "Nationals Pale Ale" especially for sale in the park?

Food:
Hot dogs(Sahlen brand is the best)
Half smokes
Bratwurst and sauerkraut
Sausage Sandwiches (the ones at RFK are decent except the rolls are too
big and they should have hot peppers and onions in lieu or sweet peppers).
Chili (Bring back Hard Times Cafe) and chili nachos
steak fries
BBQ sandwiches that don't cost $9
Decent pizza

Add to that good list:
Dogfish Head IPA 90
Dogfish Head Raison D Etre
Dominion Tupper Ale
Pilsner Urquel (someone sold this briefly this year)

Tell Red Hot & Blue to stop putting bread on their BBQ platters to
make the portion of meat look bigger than it really is. Just serve
decent portions please.

After several delays they are moving slowly toward opening at 7
Corners. They were advertising somewhere for wait staff, so there is
progress.

Here's the most recent info:

Someone was selling it from the keg on the third floor for a brief
time. But they've closed down. A nice hoppy pils like that can be a
real treat on a hot summer day.

I wouldn't mind the price if they would stop giving just a dab of
barbeque with a big bun added to the plate to make it look full. I
tried once to have them not put the bread on the plate and the answere
was: We gots to do it that way....

Dogfish Head is good stuff. Has their tavern opened in Falls Church yet?

Not a fan of Pilsners but friends like it. Isn't it available upstairs
at RFK by the Old Dominion Pale Ale?

Red, Hot, and Blue food is decent, but they think ballpark = rampant
price gouging. Everyone knows that they pay more at events, but they
are ripping people off.

Wednesdays?? Must be training staff.

Hey, for a place with an extensive beer list try Brasserie Beck in
Washington, DC. Their beer master pairs Belgian brews with some
really interesting dinners.

It's fine if you like it, but I gave up on beers like Coors a long
time ago. I find offerings from the microbrewers to be much more
interesting.

I'm dying to go... Marcel's is an amazing restaurant; same people but with
bistro setting; beer not wine. I love Belgian beer/ale. Monk's in Philly
is the best thing about that city: Belgian Ales and mussels; yummmm.

We've had a great time on two visits. The first visit was 3 days
after opening and the staff had clearly gone through many dry runs.
Wiedmaier was there greeting and thanking guests. Their beer master
apparently just received an award from a recognized brewers society in
Belgium.
