They just said the strike zone has shrunk, and Affeldt threw 5 straight
balls to start the inning. Grr...

12 pitches, 9 balls and 3 strikes. Guess part of it was he was having
trouble getting comfy out there with the mud, but still, the ump can call
the same strike zone as before the rainout, and I bet the inning's over.

Here comes Grimsley.

Yeah, and The Shinking Strike Zone cost us if not a bit. On and On we go tied
at 5 in the 11th, Carrasco Our Last Hope. And my rant below your post about
why no rainout called with game already official...

Tis One Of Those Nights as the Eagles play here with Mr. Royals Denny Meister
on low....g

I totally agree about calling the game. Come to think of it, that's another
way the home ump screwed us. It was still raining, and I repeat that I have
NEVER seen a game resumed until the rain actually stops. In fact, I think
that's an unwritten rule (or maybe it's written, I have no idea). Besides, I
think I've seen games called after a 90 minute delay and no end of rain in
sight.

So we should have won a rain shortened game, but now we gotta play extra
innings. *sigh*

Yeah, the rainout was my point of question.

Well Randa is on 2nd base in the bottom of the 11th and ?? outs with Sweeney
up.

But, don't you feel better now that this game won't have an asterisk in the
record books years from now? News flash: games in the major leagues are NINE
innings (unless you've got umpires that want to wimp out). If you want shorter
games, there's the minors, high school, and little league.
