Al, you'll have to excuse Muskie (apparently he's moved on from
identifying himself as Eric Winkleman) for jumping the gun. He can't
help but wait to criticize the Cubs for something. Of course he fails to
realize that Sisco very possibly won't last on the KC roster and that
the Cubs are getting compensation for Clement. I'm not sure what else he
wants but I'm not surprised that he's not criticizing the Cubs for
getting nothing for Tom Goodwin.

Check the headers. Maybe Muskie is posting from Australia where it's
already tomorrow.

Do you want to expand upon that?

It was reported in today's Tribune that he is expected to be taken
second in the draft, along with the fact that the Cubs are expected to
sign Peter Bergeron.
"They are expected to sign Milwaukee minor-league outfielder Peter
Bergeron after the Rule 5 draft on Monday, and are likely to lose
minor-league left-hander Andy Sisco to Kansas City with the second pick
of the Rule 5 draft."

The Cubs have five open roster spots. Two of the filled spots are occupied
by John Koronka and Russ Rohlicek, in addition to Soto. Either of these two
guys would be good candidates for loss in Rule 5, and perhaps, kept by the
drafting team, but who cares?

Well, that's probably right, but if Sisco goes in the first round, it was a
very bad move by Hendry to leave him exposed.

It worked out okay for Johan Santana.

as it did for most of Earl Weaver's pitchers.

According to BA, Santana spent a good portion of the first year on the DL.

Well, maybe so, but he pitched in 30 games, only 5 of which he started. He
threw 86 innings altogether.
I see no reason why Sisco couldn't be used as the 11th man on the staff,
accumulating 50 innings or so, without stunting his development as a
pitcher.
