Should Shawn Green Play During Yom Kippur?

It's a very high holiday in the Jewish faith and I see nothing wrong with
him not playing. He is following his religion very strictly, nothing wrong
with that. I don't understand why he should be criticized for it.

If the Mormons play on Sunday, I guess they are not as adherent to their
religion as Green. Nothing wrong with either way but that's how it is.

I don't think it's a very big deal. After all, in this day and age,
everyone gets a few off days over the course of a season. Why not give
Green one of his off days on Yom Kippur, and give him one fewer the rest of
the way?

yamica on after the game do you? He probably doesn't go to the temple every

The thing with the Mormons is they're greedy. They get something like 10%
of their peoples wages. Odd, I've always said, but I'm not a big religion
fan.

Quite ignorant. Many Jews are Conservative or Reformed, and do not wear a
yarmulke. Many Jews do not go to Temple every week. How many Christians
attend church on Easter or Christmas, but at no other time during the year?
Before you reply that the NBA plays on Christmas, and there are baseball
games on Easter, it is important to consider that Yom Kippur is considered a
solemn holiday for rest and repentence, and not a day of celebration like
Christmas and Easter have become.
