Player Notes
May 21 Stewart has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by
the Minnesota Twins, retroactive to May 18. The outfielder, who has missed
most of the week with a sore right foot, will be replaced on the roster by
first baseman/designated hitter Justin Morneau.
Advice: With Stewart sidelined, the Twins will look to Lew Ford
to fill the hole in left field. Stewart is batting .287 with three home
runs, 17 RBI and four stolen bases in 31 games this season.




May 21 The Twins placed outfielder Shannon Stewart on the 15-day
disabled list on Thursday because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. "I
don't think it is severe," Stewart told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
"Sometimes it feels like I can go out there and go. I know if I do go out
there I might reaggravate it." The Twins recalled outfielder Justin Morneau
to take Stewart's place on the active roster.
Views: Stewart is injured? Shocking! Plantar fasciitis can be
very painful and has been known to sideline players for quite awhile.
Stewart may not feel it's severe, but we'll be keeping a close eye on his
recovery. Meanwhile, enjoy watching Morneau rake the ball. He's one of
baseball's best outfield prospects and was hitting .356 with 10 home runs at
Triple-A Rochester.





May 20 Updating previous items, the Associated Press' Andres
Ybarra reports the Minnesota Twins placed OF Shannon Stewart (foot) on the
15-day disabled list Thursday, May 20, due to a strained plantar fascia. The
move was retroactive to Tuesday, May 18.
