I'll be the first to admit that I don't know all the in's and out's
about MLB and their policies, but Bud Selig has opposed a 5:00 pm
deadline for completing the Manny/Arod deal? I've never heard of such a
thing? Why would the commissioners office give a rat's ass about when/if
that deal gets completed?

I think this has to do with the tampering laws in baseball and it is up
the commissioner to set these limits. Further discussions outside of the
allowed time period would definitely be considered tampering.

And if anyone knows about tampering, it's Selig.

I don't want Boston to get A-Rod.
Boston would win the 2004 World Series without even having to win a game
yet.
I want us to win.
