Post subject: Scoring Question
Archived from groups: rec>sport>baseball (more info?)

I had something strange this happen while scoring a AAA game earlier
this week...the scoring rules don't cover it, though.

Runner on first, nobody out. Guy hits a popup to the 3B dugout. The 3B
catches the ball and then falls in the dugout. Dead ball, runner
advances to second. How do you score his advance? I just put that he
advanced to second, just like I would score tag-ups. The rules on
errors don't say anything about giving one in that situation.

The related question, though...if the runner had been on third in this
situation, how would you score the run? Is it a sac fly? RBI?
