I'd rather see the A's in San Jose than the plan in Fremont.

Nic, the A's ownership is runnng a real estate scam with Cisco in and
near Fremont. Of course the A's would draw better in San Jose, but the
A's ownership and "commissioner" Bud Lite honor the Giants' claim to
the area, pending "contraction," Bud Lite's objective for the A's. In
the meantime the A's ownership will sell parcels around Fremont to
busineses and residents at inflated amonts because they'll face a big-
league ballpark _for a while_. No reliable transportation to the new
ballpark from the East Bay, West Bay, San Jose? South? So what? Do the
building, get the money,

I too think the Fremont plan is a scam, and not in the team's best
interests. If they have to relocate (something I don't believe, but may
have to accept), San Jose seems the best option for fans, which is the
perspective I care about.

I think the lack of public transit (imagine the wait for those
shuttles to BART after a game) is a way to get more people to pay high
parking fees.

I just don't see the conspiracy behind it. Nor do I think the lack of
direct public transportation will be a factor in the long run. If the
place is a big enough draw, people will find a way to go regardless,
and public transportation may even find it's own way there, also.

As is stands now I envision myself only going to weekend games at
the proposed park. Living in SF and driving means rush hour traffic on
the way to night games and on the way home for day games. Maye someone
will come up with a plan but I have not seen one.
