The Rose Award goes to Jason Kubel of the Minnesota Twins, who went
two-for-three with four RBI and scored one run in a 6-1 win over the
Detroit Tigers.
Kubel hit a tie-breaking grand slam with two out in the eighth inning
and Glen Perkins shut down the Tigers by giving up one run and seven
hits in 7-2/3 innings. >> Stay informed about: The Rose Award For 5-25-2008. |

And Kubel did it all without breaking the rules of Major League
Baseball. Imagine that. Oh, help me out because I can't remember the
exact number of grannies that old Pete Rose hit. I know you must be a
big fan, so tell us.

How long do you think Kubel will have to play in order to have 4,256
hits? Imagine that. >> Stay informed about: The Rose Award For 5-25-2008. |

A very long time. I think it is a safe bet it will never happen.
Why? Is that somehow relevant to this conversation? If so, see if
you can calculate the answer to this question:
How long would it have taken Pete to hit two grand slams? Because
Kubel has done that in this year alone. Hint: I think the answer,
while incalculable, is something like "two careers."

Well, it took Rose a hell of alot longer to get to that point than other
great players would have or did. I guess if you hang around that long, you
will collect a decent number of hits. >> Stay informed about: The Rose Award For 5-25-2008. |

Does your wife still score with the grand slam? (Taking in four cocks
at the same time?) >> Stay informed about: The Rose Award For 5-25-2008. |
