The Rose Award goes to Jermaine Dye of the Chicago White Sox, who went
three-for-four with six RBI and scored three runs in a 13-8 win over
the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Dye hit two homers, including a seventh-inning grand slam, as the
White Sox finished a three-game sweep.

Giving a Chicago White Sox player an award, named after a man who lost
his career to gambling, seems very apropriate. They only wish it could
be called: The Shoeless Joe Award.
