The Rose Award goes to Garrett Atkins of the Colorado Rockies, who
went one-for-three with two RBI and scored one run in a 4-3 loss to
the Boston Red Sox.

The Red Sox are the 2007 World Series champions. If you plan to
attend the victory parade, watch out for rubber bullets.

Are you on crack? Several players had more than Atkins' one hit in
that game. I thought the Rose award was all about "the MOST hits".

Is poor Garrett a degenerate gambler? That would explain it.

You thought wrong. The Rose Award is for the player with the best
game performance for the day.
