The Rose Award goes to Blake DeWitt of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who
went one-for-three with three RBI in a 7-2 win over the Philadelphia
Phillies.
The Dodgers, feeling the pressure of possibly being down three-games-
to-none, resorted to inside pitching to get the Phillies to back off
the plate. When the Phillies returned the favor, Manny Ramirez had to
be restrained by teammate Russell Martin.
The Rose Committee doesn't play favorites, but when a player gets the
'prima donna' syndrome, like Manny Ramirez displayed, it's probably
time for a beaning. |
