I'll agree. What was worse is that he doesn't see anything wrong with what
he did. He argued that he did nothing wrong, it was part of his normal
stride. Why did Torrey defend the play (other than that's what a manager is
supposed to do, defend a player wven though the player is dead wrong).
Why is there no honor in baseball? They should learn a lesson from
professional golfers, especially Davis Love after the way he played the last
hole in the Ryder Cup. A baseball player would have streached the rule so he
could take a drop. Davis, like the honorable man he is, said the sprinkler
head did not interfere with his stance.
Baeball players always argue in their favor, right or wrong (basketball and
football also for that matter). One I'd like a player to say "Yup Ump, you
were right, I was wrong."
