Why does Jimy continue to bring Stone in with the game one the line. It seems
every time the game is close and Stone comes in he gives up a HR or a
tie-breaking hit. Stone should be released immediately.

Stone is, most likely, suffering from overuse.

Only a truly stupid fan would suggest he be released. It's not like he's Bruce Chen.

Stone needs to be cut in the worst way. He is absolutely terrible.

He's had two good months followed by one awful month. It could have
just been a bad month, he could be injured, he could have been
overused in May, etc. To simply cut him now is utterly stupid.

Instead of just bitching and griping about the roster, how about giving some
solutions as well? Who in the hell would we replace Stone with? Puffer?
Rosario if/when he becomes healthy again? Untested rookies like Doug
Sessions, Kirk Bullinger or Miguel Saladin? A retread like Bob Scanlan? I
know, they can convince the recently retired Johnathan Johnson to change his
mind and come back. There just aren't many good options other than renting
a reliever through trading (which would be an even bigger mistake).

I say throw the rookies in there. Thats where the Berkmans, Oswalts,
Millers, Ensbergs, etc come from. Let them play. The rookies have the
heart to play the game b/c they aren't getting paid much. Guys that have 7
year contracts and get millions per year dont have to fight for their spot
every game b/c even if they lose it they get paid.

You're also entitled to be called an idiot when your opinions are
stupid. The guy has already pitched about 2/3 as many innings as
he did last year, and we're still not at the All-Star Break. The
rise in homers allowed is a concern, but he's still at a 3.73 ERA.
That makes him still a useful reliever.

Why the name calling and put downs..Wouldn't it be more mature and professional to say
something like "I disagree with your opinion/analysis for the following reasons etc etc"?.

Have a good day..

Well, Stone has now allowed only 2 runs in 9 innings in July. Too bad
we didn't cut him and keep Puffer -- Puffer would have risen to the
occasion and given up at least 9 runs in those 9 innings.

Oh, and Villone has only one win this season. He should be cut
immediately, too.

Because saying that Ricky Stone should be released immediately is such
a grossly ignorant and stupid thing to say that the poster deserves to
be called on it.
