Rickey Henderson will be coming to Petco Park on Monday as the Mets
new hitting coach. He was always one of my favorite Padres.

He was always one of my favorite Padres. As it turns out, he won't be coming in as the Mets batting coach... However, he will be much more visible to the fans in his new assignment! The Mets have decided to make Howard Johnson their hitting coach, and will have Rickey as their 1st base coach. He may have an influence on their baserunning/stealing philosophy, but he will definitely be one of the more visible Mets. I still want some enterprising TV guy to put a mic on him during a game...
