Anthony Reyes dominated Omaha last night, allowing just three hits and
one run in 7 innings, bringing his season ERA down to 2.78.
Anthony Reyes stat lines this year so far:
6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 2 HR
5.1 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 2 HR
7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, 0 HR -- retired last 14 straight
7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 0 HR -- retired first 18
7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 0 HR -- 1-hit shutout into 7th
Adam Wainwright has been pitching better than I realized. He's got a
27/4 K/BB ratio in 34 IP, and he's only given up one homer with his 2.10
ERA. He's giving up a hit an inning, though...and he hasn't looked as
dominant as Reyes. They don't hit the ball hard off Reyes very often.
