Al Reyes is back, anyway... - I was impressed with him last year. --

Reyes Does It Again - Anthony Reyes dominated Omaha last night, allowing just three hits and one run in 7 innings, bringing his season ERA down to 2.78. Anthony Reyes stat lines this year so far: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 2 HR 5.1 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 2 HR

Al Reyes - Just heard he may miss all of next season too. :(

Reyes too?!!! - This is just getting to be too much. I've seen my little league pitchers throw better fast balls and place curve balls better than this guy is throwing tonight. Why take the mound and throw batting practice pitches? If you can't go out and EARN your..

Who Will Replace Al Reyes? - I was just wondering if anyone know who the Cards will replace the injured Reyes with? On a separate note, to add insult to injury, last night I sat down at 11:00 eastern time to watch the game. I saw all of 1/2 inning before the rain my..

I was somewhat surprised that Reyes is headed back to AAA. Maybe they
are setting up a move to bring Mulder back in a relief role as he has
sucked it up in the minors on his rehab starts. If that is the case, it
is kicking a decision down the road... Reyes has been scouted and the
Cards could use some value in a trade. This doesn't help that.

Miklasz's take:

"He’ll have a chance to start every five days. And that’s a good thing
for Reyes and the Cardinals. He was fine in relief, but if he’s to
have any trade value at all, it will be as a starter. And if Reyes can
do what he normally does at Triple A Memphis — dominate hitters — the
trade market for him will expand. A few teams already are interested,
but they view Reyes as a starter, and want to see him do that before
assessing his trade value. It’s hard for intrigued parties to scout
Reyes when he’s appearing only occasionally in relief.

"When I ran this theory by a high-ranking Cardinals official — Reyes
has a chance to showcase himself in Memphis – it wasn’t exactly shot
down."
