If one remove's Hennessey's and Zito's stats from the pitching stats, the
giants pitching stats are right up there with the best pitching staffs. I
guess several teams have their outlier pitchers that mess up their stats,
but these two guys really make a good pitching staff look mediocre.

Simon, FOR ONCE you are absolutely right on target. I look at the SF
starters and say, MAN! they have got some terrific pitching. And I'm
guessing the starting pitching alone (minus Zito) is what's hauled them up
from the cellar. If the offense is lacking, SF will have to trade for it or
bring it up from the minors . . . Or try to peck out runs the way the
Dodgers had to in the Koufax/Drysdale era. It can be done.

Sorry Hennessey, need to go 7+ to win - Memo to all SFG starters: You now must pitch into the 7th to have any chance to get a win for your stats. The bullpen can not be expected to hold any lead for longer than 2 innings. Thank You, Your GM Brian Sabean.

Hennessey does it all! - He pitches shuts out the Brewski's and he hits a 3 run homer to drive in ALL of the Giants' runs.

What's up with Hennessey? - Is there anyone who's flakier than Hennessey? It seems like he alternates really good starts with really disastrous starts. Look at the game-by-game: his first two starts were average, then he has an excellent start (admittedly against the RoadRockies)...

Hennessey again - Since I last remarked on Hennessey's flakiness, he has had: 1) A terrible start vs. Fla 2) An excellent start vs. StL 3) A terrible start vs. Phi One of the obvious culprits is the pitch count: whenever he pitches a good game, he tends to get up in the...

Hennessey - He sure doesn't want to get traded. His trade value dropped today. Giants pitchers still as a group look pretty far behind at this point of Spring Training.
