Simon, FOR ONCE you are absolutely right on target. I look at the SF
starters and say, MAN! they have got some terrific pitching. And I'm
guessing the starting pitching alone (minus Zito) is what's hauled them up
from the cellar. If the offense is lacking, SF will have to trade for it or
bring it up from the minors . . . Or try to peck out runs the way the
Dodgers had to in the Koufax/Drysdale era. It can be done.
