I know some of you aren't into the superstitious and may not be interested
in this post, but there isn't much more to talk about.

Anyway, I am sure you all remember the Red and White uniforms that were
really nice, had style, and were the new signature of the new Texas Rangers
who had finally made it to the playoffs. Sure we didn't get far against the
dominant Yankees, but it was new beginnings and that's an entirely different
story. I really liked the Red and White uniforms. I wish the Rangers would
go back to these uniforms. The uniforms that we have now are dull (another
grand Tom Hicks idea). They just don't have any presence.

It almost makes me revise something I heard in the movie Catch Me If You Can
when Christopher Walken tells Leonardo Dicaprio why the Yankees always win;
he states "Everybody's staring at the pinstripes.".

The Red and White uniforms had style plain and simple. They had a baseball
type presence. A presence that says "YEAH WERE HERE IN THE FLASHY UNIFORMS
AND WERE GOING TO KICK SOME ASS". Then we turn around and go back to the
boring blue and white.

I don't feel I am the only person who has this superstition. I think every
owner has this. You'll notice that when teams are down and out they usually
change their uniforms. Kind of like when the Mavs went from the mean green
to the blue and black. Kind of like the Nets pulling the emergency old
jerseys out to spice things up. Or the Lakers and the White Jerseys when
they got off to that poor start.

Anyone else agree? Or any comments?

I guess to end this the Red and White jerseys just matched that ball park.
They had somewhat of a historical look, with a dominating presence. Also
could be a good time to go back to them.

I am not superstitious at all, but I liked the red and white better
and was disappointed when we went back to the old blue.

Hoob.

I agree, Red and White were very bright and sharp. There is a theory about
color also. I don't know how much stock to put in to it but the theory is
that red is a more agressive and stimulating color, blue is calming and
peaceful. I have heard of some sports teams making the visiting teams
locker rooms blue and their home teams in red for the hope that blue would
have a more calmign effect on the visiting teams psyche. Conversely a color
like red was used for the home teams rooms becasue it stimulated agression
(or so the theory goes).

The red on white is very sharp and clean looking, the blue and white just
seems blah to me. So here is hoping for a change back to the good days of
red and white.
