Anyone else notice?

Since the Toronto Red Star called the Jays' organization the KKK the team is
1-7?

8 straight games against les Expos, Tigers and Orioles you would figure they
would go 7-1. Thanks to the Commy Toronto Star...they seem cursed!

It is certainly the kind off thing that can throw a team off. It would
have been discussed in the locker room a lot. If this is part of the
cause then they should manage to get by that.

Just for the record the starters actually pitched well for much of May
and June. It not a great rotation, but it would not kill us. The pen on
the other hand is hopeless.

Gee then I guess they must be doubly-cursed as of today's Toronto Sun
which carries a story about how the Jay's minor leagues are down to 3
of 19 minorities in minor league instructors (down from 10/21 last
year).

Actually, the observation mainly was made that to make the many latin
players in the minors confortable (37 out of 155 total players in
fact), there is only one latin who is coach/managing in the system
(Omar Malave at Syracuse).

I could not find the story on the CANOE/SLAM site, but in the printed
newspaper it appears on page S11... with the header:


Jay's Latin farmhands could use mentors.


<ahem> does this mean they will go 0-7 (since they can only get worse,
based upon the argument quoted above)??? Smile
