Are they friggin' kidding? Coco Crisp, Lester, and a minor leaguer? What a
joke - I wouldn't take any of them straight up for Pavano.

Which is exactly why you don't run a baseball team.

pitcher, but the money he wants is worth more than going 15-13 with an ERA
over 3. I don't think the guy is worth that much. Considering what you have
to give up in talent and then pay the guy 25 mil a year, I'd want the guy to
win 30 games to be worth it. I hope the Yanks bypass this type of deal.

Preferably a guy also with a good enough bat to pinch hit now and then
and maybe play some corner outfield or first base.

Yeah, 30 game winner, good hitter, corners... but is he gold glove
caliber, defensively? If not, no way we pay more 25 million.

I think you're being unreasonable. I'm willing to give up a little
defense as long as he can win the 30, play position a few games here
and there between starts, pinch hit, with some offensive pop. Gold
glove? Geeze, you're asking for too much.

Can he block, though? For that kind of money, he really should block as
well.

As long as he can block the plate, I'm satisfied.
