I really think this is funny, to be honest. King was let go by the Brew
Crew, was he not? Then Bowden picks him up, ala Mike Stanton. Then he gets
traded back to the team who waved goodbye last year, but now they have to
give up a player to get him.

I think Bowden lives for goofy stuff like this. In the grand scheme of
things, it's peanuts, but to get something for essentially nothing (and Ray
King was nothing) makes JimBo's world go round.

Why, pray tell, does anyone trade to acquire Ray King? I can understand
trading to get rid of him...

You may have been speaking of the Ray King we got for nothing, but since the
All star break he's been doing well. Even started earning pitching to more
than one batter.
