The post about pulling a stunt reminded me of this game.

When the Diamondbacks faced off vs the Yankees in the World Series when
Randy Johnson took the mound in the bottom of the 1st it was already
10-0, and I believe it was 13-0 in the second inning.

When you have a situation like that why wouldn't they pull RJ out of
the game? Have him face one batter and take your chances with a 10 run
lead, then start RJ the next game...

Remember this was Randy Johnson who was dominating, not the RJ of
today.

He'd thrown three innings by the time the decision was in hand, and the
clutch (TM) Schilling was scheduled to pitch next.

Playoffs in HD - How come they are not broadcasting the playoffs in high definition?!?!? I find that very dissapointing. They broadcast regular season NFL games in HD and the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast in HD for regular season games. So what the Hell is going on with..

Going to a bar during playoffs - dumb dumb dumb - Just thinking of the Oakland A's player who got injured apparently in a fight in a Boston bar during the playoffs. Especially dumb when you are the visiting team, you never know what drunks or idiots you could run into that want to pick a fight or mouth....

Wild Cards in the Playoffs - Ten years into the distended playoffs, wild card teams are 12-8 in divisional series (10-2 from 1999 through 2004) and 6-6 in league championship series. Wild card teams are 4-2 in the World Series (including the all-wild card 2002 Series).

Playoffs against team in your division - The NFL eliminated the rule that teams in the same division can not meet in the first round of playoffs. Maybe baseball will take a hint. I see no reason for this rule. If the wild card and the team with the best record are in the same division the...

The all-never-made-the-playoffs team - I'm sure a lot of really, really good players -- and maybe even some great ones -- had long careers in MLB that never included a single playoff game. I just can't think of any, though I confess I don't know much about pre divisional play MLB. So who....
