So far, so good... Sort of. Good pitching, with the exception of Oliver...
He doesn't look horrible though, just his results do, albeit after only two
games.

Defense, ugh, hope we are not in for a repeat of last season's defensive
woes. Although I suspect Kotchman will go a long way towards shoring up our
infield defense.

Hitting, not bad, but this is Texas so let us curb our enthusiasm.

Matthews has looked good, good plate discipline. Napoli looks more like
2nd-half Napoli than 1st-half rookie sensation Napoli.

Physioc and Hudler are in mid-season form... That is to say they are every
bit as annoying as they always have been.

Sure would be nice to sweep TX out of town tomorrow and head into the OAK
series on a roll.

I love that our bullpen is strong enough that Scioscia didn't have to
leave anybody in long enough to get his brains beat in.

I'll tell you the thing they do that REALLY pisses me off--they are way
too often late announcing new guys in the game, especially those at the
start of a 1/2-inning. I always end up online trying to figure out who
that guy is on the pitching mound. Or, tonight, after Kata pinch hit, I
waited to find out who had taken over in LF; I didn't expect it to be
Kata because he's listed as a 2B, but turns out it was him--but I didn't
hear it from the guys. I keep score even when I'm watching on tv, so I
need my information.

Definitely.

I gotta say, I can't believe what a slow learner Padilla is--you'd think
he'd have learned by now that throwing up and in to Vladi is a really
stupid thing for him to do, especially after the HR.

>From what I saw, I agree. After a shift on Texieria put Howie
Kendrick in exactly the right spot to snare an otherwise base hit, one
got the impression that no other second baseman could or would have
made the play by the way Hudler sang Howie's praises. Phys did a
great job reeling him in and acknowedging Roenicke's role.

As a person, I'm sure there is no better than Rex. As an interviewee,
he's fun. As a commentator, he's just horrid.
