I was out last night and missed the game.

It looks like Punto had a nice night for the Twins...in fact he
had a better night than Chubrera (the $153 million dollar man)
did for the Tigers. Go figure.

I suppose Nick will be wanting a raise soon. Wink

Nice win.

Is that ALL you can say about the guy? Did you not read the paper this
morning??? <G>

You missed a GREAT game. Sorry. Were you dodging the raindrops at the
Basilica Bash?

Not yet. Just looking on-line at the box score and MLB wrap.

Looks like Punto was clutch....again.

Nope, not this year. Nephews are spending the weekend, so we took
them out to dinner and to see 'Wanted' at the theater. Good movie!
Angelina Jolie looking as good as ever in that one. Wink

You know what's weird?

When I heard I heard Punto was hurt and held out of the lineup, I was very
disappointed, realizing that that was actually a significant blow to the
Twins on offense and defense.

I think that says how far he's come this year.

Yes. I felt the same way. When I heard he was out with a knuckle
injury until after the break, I was a little disappointed too.

Who would have thought after last season that we would be missing
Punto in the lineup this season? He has definitely worked out well
at SS this season, and not just defensively.

Because I thought he would come back from that woeful 2007 campaign.
Here's what I said about it in March:

Oh, OK. I guess I thought you were joking when you said he
was "just coming into his own" because, at the time, there
wasn't any indication that would happen.

Good call, in hindsight, if you were serious.
