Never said he was worthless...the lint and comb would be fine.

Yeah, Drew is pretty obviously worthless, hunh? (And note
that OPS+ underrates Drew, since it tends to underrate
players whose value derives more from OBP). He's been
roughly a league-average hitter for his position so far,
and his strong June/July (when combined with how he's
hit during the rest of his career) suggests he may well
continue to bring his numbers up.

But, uh, other than that, I totally agree with you.

OBP is way overrated. This is why the Sox can't score runs. Too many
players like Drew looking for a walk with runners on base. Statheads
always miss the point. Abreu has been the same cancer for the Yankees
as Drew has been for the Sox -- for the same reason.

I'll take that 3 MILLION dollars if you don't want it.

Drew got off to a horrible start. He has shown considerable improvement and
is one hell of an outfielder. Doesn't matter anyway...he ain't going
anywhere. If you are a Red Sox fan (are you?), you'd best hope he continues
the improvement. All the crying and bitching won't change anything.
